Clayton Bonham Celebrates 30 Years and 40,000 Homes
On May 5, 2025, Clayton Bonham, located in Bonham, Texas, celebrated two major milestones: 30 years in business and the successful completion of 40,000 homes. Clayton Bonham was founded on May 5, 1995, when the north Texas facility relocated from Honey Grove, Texas.

To mark the occasion, team members gathered for a catered lunch. Fajitas were served in a nod to Cinco de Mayo, the May 5th celebration of Mexican-American history and culture. The event was an opportunity to recognize and honor Clayton Bonham team members and guests from the Bonham community.

“It was a perfect day filled with past and present team members coming together to celebrate not just milestones, but the incredible people who make Clayton Bonham so special,” said Kip Thrush, Clayton Bonham general manager.

One of the day’s guests, Francis Moran, Clayton Bonham’s first general manager, received the Pioneer Award from Kip Thrush, Bonham’s current general manager. Cathy Rhudy, team member experience manager at Bonham, was recognized for her 30 years of service at the facility. Other team members received fun awards like the “Chief Chuckle” award given to a Bonham team member known for making everyone laugh.

Steve Ross, a high-volume Oklahoma City-based retailer and ambassador for the manufactured housing industry, also attended the May 5th event. Ross holds the distinction of having purchased several commemorative Clayton Bonham homes over the years, including the 10,000th, 20,000th, and 30,000th homes as well as the most recent milestone purchase of the 40,000th home.

Ross has partnered with Clayton Bonham since Bonham opened its doors in 1995, when Francis Moran held a small show of Clayton homes for local retailers. “I met Francis and realized right away he’s my kind of people,” said Ross, who calls the entire Clayton Bonham team “honorable.”

“The whole organization is wonderful,” said Ross. “The culture is wonderful. They’ve always built to high standards.” At the lunch, Ross said to the Clayton Bonham team, “I can tell that you take pride in the homes you build, and that makes my job selling them easier.”

Matt Portman, Clayton Bonham brand experience manager, echoes Clayton Bonham’s pride in home building. He said, “We’re not just building home models; we’re building homes for people.”
Congratulations, Clayton Bonham!
