Clayton Facilities Raise Funds for East Tennessee Cancer Center
Six Clayton Home Building Group® facilities and the Clayton Foundation presented Morristown Regional Cancer Center with a check for $57,240.05 at the 11th annual Jingle Run for Hope. This donation goes towards the cancer center’s Patient Assistance Fund, a reflection of Clayton’s value to Do good in the communities in which team members live and work.
Since 2017, Clayton has donated more than $361,000 to Morristown Regional Cancer Center. This year, team members at Clayton Supply Morristown, Clayton Bean Station, TRU Halls, TRU White Pine, Clayton Giles and Clayton Rutledge participated in the fundraising efforts.
Clayton facilities contributed $37,240.05. The Clayton Foundation provided an additional $20,000.

Team members generated funds with hot dog and hamburger cookoffs, in addition to more traditional donation drives. Other popular initiatives included bake sales, a cake auction and a chili competition.
Robert Galarneau, a utility team member at Clayton Rutledge with a passion for woodworking, handcrafted decorative trays and cutting boards that were auctioned off.
“I have family, you have family, we all have family who have battled cancer,” says Galarneau. “We even have team members here who have had to use the patient fund when they have been out of work and taking treatments. As long as I am working here, I’ll always be using my VTO and skills to donate to something good like the cancer patient fund.”

In addition to their fundraising endeavors, team members ran or walked the 5K Jingle Run for Hope, which winds through downtown Morristown, TN. Proceeds from the Jingle Run for Hope benefit the Morristown Regional Cancer Center.
Jody Duncan Patterson, Team Member Experience Manager at Clayton Giles, experienced firsthand the impact that Morristown Regional Cancer Center has on its patients.
“In 2018, while receiving my own breast cancer treatments at the Morristown Cancer Center, I never imagined I would one day have the opportunity to give back,” says Patterson. “When I joined Clayton in 2020, a team member approached me about helping with fundraising for the Cancer Center. I was thrilled to jump in with both feet.
“Without the compassionate physicians and dedicated staff at the Cancer Center, I would not be here today.”
The Morristown Regional Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund gives patients and their families financial aid as they go through treatment. Providing gas cards to help patients get to their appointments, funds for utility bill expenses and payment assistance for treatment-related prescriptions are just some of the services offered.
“Clayton’s generosity and long‑standing commitment to the Jingle Run for Hope make a meaningful difference for patients and families who rely on Covenant Health Morristown-Hamblen and the Morristown Regional Cancer Center,” says Gordon Lintz, president and chief administrative officer of Covenant Health Morristown-Hamblen. “Their support strengthens the advanced cancer care services available in our community and helps ensure that people facing a cancer diagnosis can receive high quality care close to home.
"We are deeply grateful for Clayton's partnership and the positive impact their fundraising efforts continue to have throughout the Lakeway Area."
